A Brompton is engineered to be carried as much as ridden. The tube inside it should be too. At 32 g, the Eclipse Performance Brompton tube is one of the lightest inner tubes made for any wheel size — designed specifically for the 16 × 1⅜" (ETRTO 349) tyre standard that Brompton uses across its entire range, and includes the valve hole adapter that the Brompton's narrow fork crown requires.
Por qué funciona
32 g. 70% less than a standard butyl Brompton tube . On a bike you fold, lift, and carry onto trains, up stairs, and into offices, that number has context every single time.
Designed for the Brompton valve hole. Brompton's rim has a narrower valve aperture than most wheels. This tube comes with the correct adapter — the valve seats properly without modification to your rim or tyre.
40 mm and 50 mm valve options. The 40 mm version uses a valve hole adapter for standard Brompton rims. The 50 mm version includes a threaded collar and adapter for deeper-section Brompton rims. Both are Presta.
Fits all Brompton models. S Line, C Line, T Line, and Electric — all use the same 16 × 1⅜" (ETRTO 349) tyre standard.
Patented all-aluminum valve with removable core. If the core ever needs replacing, it takes 60 seconds and a valve tool. The adapter stays on the rim.
Patented end-to-end welding. The same failure-eliminating process across the entire Performance line.
100 % reciclable.

Brompton model compatibility
Compatible with all current Brompton models — S Line, C Line, T Line, and Brompton Electric — as well as previous Brompton M, P, H, and L-bar configurations. All use the 16 × 1⅜" (ETRTO 349) tyre and rim standard.
Ideal para
- Brompton owners who've already optimised the bike and want the tube to match
- City riders who carry their Brompton regularly and feel every gram in their shoulder
- Touring cyclists using a Brompton for multi-day trips where a lighter spare matters
- Anyone who's had a standard butyl Brompton tube fail mid-commute and wants something that lasts longer and packs smaller
Installation — Brompton-specific notes
Zero air on entry. Insert the valve completely flat. On a 16" wheel the tube has very little slack — starting without air is more important than on larger wheels. Seat the adapter before the tube. Push the valve through the valve hole and thread the adapter on from outside the rim before tucking the tube in. No tire levers on the second bead. The Brompton tyre bead is tight — mount the second bead by hand, working around the wheel in stages. Soft-inflate to 0.3 bar (5 psi), check the tube is sitting evenly, then inflate in 1 bar (14 psi) steps to riding pressure.
What makes Eclipse different
Eclipse pioneered TPU inner tubes in 2011 and has built dedicated products for the sizes the market overlooks. The Performance Brompton tube uses the same patented all-aluminum valve and end-to-end welding process as the full Performance line — sized and adapted for the bike that carries you when you're not riding it. Every tube is QC-checked before it ships.
