Description

Most inner tubes are made for standard wheel sizes. Bromptons, Birdy bikes, recumbents, tandem trailers, junior road bikes, and active wheelchairs aren't standard. This tube is.

The Eclipse Performance Custom covers narrow-profile tires across wheel diameters from 16 to 32 inches — sizes that are either impossible to find in TPU elsewhere or only available in heavy butyl. Specify your exact tire diameter at checkout and we'll match it.

Why it works

From 18 g for the smallest sizes. At this weight, a spare tube stops being something you notice in your bag and starts being something you forget is there.

The full diameter range. 16", 18", 20", 24", 26", 28", 29", 32" — if your tire has an ETRTO marking between 349 and 686 mm, this tube covers it. The width range (23–35 mm) handles narrow road and hybrid profiles across all those diameters.

Patented all-aluminum valve with removable core. Standard Presta compatibility. If the valve core needs replacing, a valve tool handles it in under a minute.

Patented end-to-end welding. The same failure-eliminating process used across the entire Eclipse Performance line.

Important: specify your tire diameter at checkout. Add your wheel's ETRTO diameter (e.g. 349, 406, 451, 507, 559, 571, 590, 622, 630, 686) or nominal size (e.g. 16", 20", 26") in the order notes. If you're unsure, check the sidewall of your current tire — the ETRTO marking is printed there.

Which valve length?

40–50 mm — standard rim bed, most folding and small-wheel bikes. 60 mm + — deeper rims.

Installation — four things that matter with TPU

Zero air on entry. Insert the valve completely flat. With a smaller wheel diameter, the tube sits under more tension — starting flat matters more, not less. No tire levers on the second bead. Mount by hand throughout. Soft-inflate to 0.3 bar (5 psi) first, check for twists around the full circumference, then continue. Inflate in 1 bar (14 psi) steps to full pressure.
